Monday, July 02: HPCS 2012 Welcome Reception - Madrid City Hall

We will enjoy an exclusive guided visit to the Madrid Old City Hall, “La Casa de la Villa” located in the “Plaza de la Villa”. There we will be welcomed by a City Hall representative.

Transportation: There will be buses from the Conference venue to the City Hall. Pickup time: Approx.19:15.

Tuesday, July 03: An open City Tour - Madrid de los Austrias

After the conference sessions, attendees are invited to go to Madrid City Center for a walk in the historical area known as “Madrid de los Austrias”, containing many landmarks and monuments such as the Royal Palace and Royal Theater (the Opera house), Mayor Street, the plazas Villa and Mayor, the old City Hall and the Descalzas Reales convent. The conference organization will provide attendees with tourist maps of the area, including where to go, what to see and where to eat/drink.

Wednesday, July 04: HPCS 2012 Banquet Dinner - Florida Park Restaurant

The banquet dinner of the conference will be held in the Florida Park Restaurant, located inside the "El Retiro" Park, the largest green space within the city. Its "Top Menu" displays the exquisite Spanish cuisine. Then, those who wish, may attend the spectacle of the Luis Ortega's Flamenco Ballet.

Transportation: There will be buses from the Conference venue to the restaurant located inside the "El Retiro" park. Pickup time: TBA

The Banquet will start at 20:00. Extra ticket is 60 Eur.

The Falmenco spectacle will start at 22:30. Each ticket is 25 Eur.

Thursday, July 05: Open Time – Madrid de los Borbones and Retiro Park

After the conference sessions, attendees are invited to go to the city center for a walk in the historical area known as “Madrid de los Borbones”, containing many landmarks and monuments such as the Cibeles statue, Alcalá street, and the Puerta de Alcalá. Next to this area is the Retiro Park, one of the main green areas of the city, and a great place to walk, have a drink and enjoy the evening after a hot summer day in Madrid. The conference organization will provide attendants with tourist maps of the area, including where to go, what to see and where to eat/drink.

Friday, July 06: Full Day Excursions

Event 1: Toledo Day Tour

An hour’s drive south of Madrid in the region of Castilla La Mancha you will find the magnificent city of Toledo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toledo,_Spain). Your guided tour will take you through the labyrinth of cobbled medieval alleyways, Toledo's city centre Plaza de Zocodover and includes a visit to the 13th century Gothic Cathedral and the Iglesia de Santo Tome Church with its famous El Greco masterpiece ‘The Burial of the Count of Orgaz’.

Event 2: Avila & Segovia Day Tour

Avila:

100 Kilometers from Madrid and over the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains the medieval walled City of Avila (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%81vila,_Spain) sits imposingly on top of a rocky hill. Avila offer the visitor some outstanding examples of Spanish medieval architecture, such as the awe inspiring two and a half kilometres city wall, an intriguing history and is famous for being the birthplace in 1515 of Saint Teresa.

Each person can register for their tickets by sending an email to the Agency at info@madridtoursandtravel.com with the following information:

What Happens Next?

Each name then goes on the Tour Registration List. Once we have a minimum of 20 adults registered for this tour, everybody will receive an email with the Tour Programme details and instructions on how to make their payment online using our website. On receipt of payment each person will receive a Pre Paid Activity Voucher confirming their tour, please hand this to your Guide at the bus to start your tour.

Terms & Conditions

- If the group falls below the minimum number of people (20 adults) then Madrid Tours & Travel reserves the right to cancel that service and you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative service.

- Tours shall be pre booked and pre paid in advance no later than 2 week before the service start date.

- No refunds will be made for any Unused Services or Cancellations.

- If you have not received your Tour Programme two weeks before your Tour Date then please contact us for a Tour Status Update.
